On January 21-22, 2014, during the Euromaidan protests, seismologist Yuri Verbitsky was abducted and later killed after the torture [2]. He was one of the first victims of the Euromaidan, the consequences of which later led to a change of government in Ukraїna to a pro-European government and actual war with the totalitarian government of the Russian Federation.
