The Ministry of Education and Science has evaluated the scientific institutions of the ministries and state industry branch academies of sciences [1]. Of the 176 institutions, 31 were identified as leaders (will be evaluated every 5 years), 100 as stable institutions (will be evaluated every 3 years), 44 as unique but not demonstrating high levels of development (will be evaluated every 2 years) and 1 as such, which has lost its development prospects and needs to be reorganized or eliminated [2, 3]. The certification of the institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine is planned for next year.

The Ministry of Finance of Ukraine announced the launch of applications to the Innovation Development Fund (also known as Ukrainian Startup Fund) [4, 5]. “According to the Minister of Finance Oksana Markarova, since innovation is a key point for economic growth and productivity growth, one of the Fund's main tasks is to launch systemic support on the basis of world best practices for those promising Ukrainian projects, which are not yet large enough to fall into view of “classic” investors.”[4].
